This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) elective Traffic Direction & Crossing Guards TCOLE # 2075 online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators. This course provides clarity and a deeper appreciation of the challenges of directing traffic. We start with a discussion of guidance of crossing guards, their challenges and performance criteria. After consideration of these practices, we move to peace responsibilities when directing traffic. Emphasis is placed on the basics of directing and controlling traffic correctly in order to allow for the safe passage of vehicles and pedestrians. We close with a refresher on situational awareness and your safety. Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive three (3) hours of course credit. TCOLE Reporting OSS Academy® typically reports 4 to 5 times each week [excluding U.S. Federal holidays]. We report your credit directly through TCLEDDS to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement [TCOLE].
